Kitchen Clear Out & Grocery Shopping Education

It would be ideal to shop only at proper markets, buy nothing covered in plastic and make all your food from scratch. But is this realistic???

Do you really know what's in all of the food in your pantry? What might be hiding in there?

Kitchen Clear Out

If your fridge, pantry and/or cupboards are full of cans, packages, boxes and jars, then this is definitely a must. Sugar, refined salt, fillers, harmful colourings, preservatives and additives are hiding inside these so-called "foods". The biggest issue with processed foods is that they tend to crowd out real nutrition. The western world is filled with so much food and yet people are starving nutritionally at a cellular level. Our bellies may be full and yet we are deficient in all sorts of vital vitamins and minerals! This is why we are seeing such increases in illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, hypothyroid issues, endometriosis, psoriasis, eczema, PCOS, Crohns, IBS, obesity and so many more.

This goes hand in hand with grocery shopping education, because once we've cleared out your kitchen, you'll want to fill it with a few new essentials! If you have a fridge full of sauces, I can guarantee that you are consuming far too much sugar. If you eat canned soups, you are likely consuming far too much salt, sugar and other nasties. Have you ever made a sauce or soup at home? How long did it take before the leftovers went off? But that caesar salad dressing can last in your fridge for months and months or even a year??? Seems fishy to me - and yes, that's an anchovy joke...sorry not sorry.

I won't be asking you to throw out EVERY item of food in your home - even if it's processed. But let me show you the worst of the worst and you can decide if you want to keep it or not. Let's simply try to crowd out the bad with some good!

Grocery Shopping Education

Food marketing can be incredibly deceptive asubious health claims are often made based on the results of studies that cherry picking data or are carried out by the companies who produce the product. Can you say, "conflict of interest"? Clever designs lead to assumptions about the product or pay supermarkets more money to place their products in a particular place in the store. Ever noticed that boxes of kids cereal is intensely colourful, with a cartoon character on it and is even placed in your child's eye line instead of yours? While your "adult" cereal box is "clean" looking and in your eye line?

Avoiding major supermarkets is impossible for many people. Whether that's due to cost or you work/have commitments on the weekends or there's no farmers market close to you.

There is a way to SHOP SMART in these big grocery giants. I can help to show you which areas of the shop to avoid, which foods are important to buy organic and most importantly, how to effectively read labels!
