Chia jam overnight oats

(One light serving - adjust to your preference)

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

  • ½ cup berries of choice (should make ¼ cup when blended)

  • ¼ cup organic oats *(see note on why I choose organic)

  • ½ cup unsweetened almond milk (or coconut milk for a more creamy jar, though I find it a bit too heavy - personal choice!)

  • Optional toppings: unsweetened shredded coconut, nuts, seeds

 

Chia Jam

Make your chia jam ahead of time!

Blend your berries of choice until smooth and add one tablespoon of chia seeds to every ¼ cup (so 4 tablespoons to 1 cup of blended berries). Place in the fridge to allow the mixture to set. This will take around 2-4 hours. Soaking chia seeds in some sort of liquid increases the bioavailability of the chia nutrients!

 

Overnight Oats

In a glass jar or cup, place your desired amount of organic oats - this depends on how hungry you are in the morning. I like a light breakfast so I only use ¼ cup of oats. Add ½ cup of milk of choice and stir the mixture. Place into the fridge overnight.

In the morning, top your oats with chia jam and toppings of choice!
